As 2024 draws to a close, I’m excited to sit down and write my first year-end blog post as CEO of Avenir IT. It’s been a whirlwind of a year. We’ve embarked on new beginnings, made strategic shifts, and embraced a wave of change and innovation—all aimed at better serving our clients and strengthening our team.
We kicked off the year with the biggest change of all at Avenir IT. Our founder, Mathieu Manaigre, decided it was time for a new chapter and sold his shares of the business to Ayce Capital, a private equity firm specializing in Managed Service Providers. This shift opened the door to some exciting strategic enhancements that may not have happened without their support. Shortly after, I took over as CEO, ready to take on this new challenge with a healthy mix of nerves and excitement.
Mathieu stuck around as a consulting founder for a while, lending me his expertise where it was needed. But as things started running smoothly and he found himself with less to do, he headed off on new adventures—knowing him, he is as busy as ever – of course I’d bet there are plenty of Disney trips in there as well! We really miss having him around, but we’re all about building on what he started, keeping our core values strong, and pushing forward to innovate and improve our services.
This year has also been big for our team. TJ has taken on the CTO role, bringing his expertise to our technology strategies. Francisco is now heading our help desk, focusing on technician growth and ensuring our clients receive top-notch support. Eric K. has transitioned under Frank’s wing to Account Manager, doing a great job on strengthening our client relationships. Avenir IT welcomed an absolute rockstar, Salmane from Morocco, adding him to our tech family early this year.
We promoted Muskan to Team Lead, where she has been thriving and AJ to Level 2 technician in recognition of his hard work, (and overwhelming positive client feedback). We then gained some experienced talent like Henry and Rohit, who have been ‘wowing’ right out of the gate. Paired with our already amazing group, it is truly a culture of positivity here at the office. I could go on and on. The truth is, I really couldn’t be more proud of them and feel this is the best team yet.
Our connection to the community has never been stronger. We were a proud sponsor at events like the Festival du Voyageur, the CDEM Fosse Aux Lions golf tournament and a Rainbow Stage production. We also supported some new causes with our non-profit clients like the Heartwood Healing Centre among others, who are all doing such amazing work. These partnerships reflect our commitment to growth through positivity and our dedication to the communities we serve and we hope to do even more in 2025.
We’ve also made significant upgrades to our processes and technology this year. (So much so, that you may be sick of my email updates!) Implementing new systems and adopting cutting-edge technologies not only boosts our operational efficiency but also ensures we deliver superior service and security to our clients. These changes are vital as we aim to keep ahead of the evolving needs of our clients and safeguard their business in a digital-first world.
Reflecting on my journey to CEO and navigating Avenir IT through this transformative year fills me with gratitude and excitement. Our goal has always been to be the most loved IT Company and best MSP to work for in Canada. We’ve worked really hard to enhance services this year, improving processes to provide the very best customer service experience from our helpdesk and delivering the best IT solutions that drive our clients’ growth.
We are excited about our future. We’ve built a strong foundation we are proud of, and I look forward to leading our talented team into a year filled with innovation, growth and client success stories.
Thanks to our clients, partners, and the Avenir IT team for making this year truly special.
Here’s to continuing our journey together in 2025. Happy New Year!
